Wiki

I have set up a pbwiki. The user interface is simpler than media wiki, a bit like blogger really.
There is, of course a commercial version, so the freebie version is limited.
You also get daily emails from them with tips, a seven things of wikis.

tip you're in

you are now entering the wonderful world of folksonomies.
These things seem like a good idea, but they can be time consuming. I imported bookmarks into delicious and now have to add sensible (meaningful to me) tags.
It is a good way to store and share bookmarks, especially if you move around to different computers a bit.
You need to know peoples account to share stuff.

Feeds

Everyone has feeds now. You can even create an Ebsco search alert rss
I had completely forgotten I had created a bloglines account, as part of a web 2.0 training exercise.
I prefer to add rss feeds to my browser favourites.

That said, I did have to recreate them when the favourites file disappeared after my computer was fixed. Maybe I should give it another go. And would it work better with delicious?
Picnik worked really well to quickly fix up an image to upload. I had tried it from home, but had trouble with it. Mostly I suspect because our internet connection is completely hopeless, constantly dropping out. Should I change providers?

trouble in paradise

For some reason Mozilla really doesn't like the My Blog list feature. It sends the layout screwy, so I have removed it.

1st of 23 things

A new blog a new post.
It starts out so fresh and clean, but before you know clutter.
